Greedy Genius Coming To Sneak Peek Shelves

Guess how I spent my Tuesday October 21, 2008............. Trying to bring the city of Memphis more Fresh Shit then your local Kroger Vegetable Section. Well after boring myself to death in English class (listening to oral reports, ughhhhhh), I got to the store and immediately got on the horn with Derek from Greedy Genius. Through about 10 phone calls and emails we finally agreed that Greedy Genius is needed in Memphis and Sneak Peek is the store to give it to you all. We got some immediate stuff coming for both Men and Women (yes you heard it right, WOMEN TOO) in the next 2 weeks and then another shipment right in time for Christmas shopping. The sizes are limited so as soon as I say we got it I wouldn't wait to come and get it. Stay tuned for more Sneak Peeks (Get It SNEAK PEEKS). As we strive everyday to make this store by far the best in Memphis. Until we speak again PEACE

New Music Monday: Retro Kidz - New Era
Ahhhhhh......... I'm back on it and actually found time to actually complete New Music Monday on Monday. Finally. This week we bring yall Retro Kidz "New Era". I'm not really sure how new this is but hell its new to us and someone else asked me had I saw it yesterday, so its must be new to some other folks as well. Truthfully I think they are pretty lame. Not because of what they doing but because of the timing, its cool to take it back to the 80's now days, so in terms of originality they get a 5 out of 10. Kinda seems like a gimmick, but so does about 80% of rap so why complain now. Anywho, check out the video and feel free to comment how you feel. On the business side of things, we have hella shipments coming into the store this week, so come and check us out. Gotta go home for the night, we been grinding all day. Until we speak again PEACE.

Delay of Game: Opening Pushed Back to October 11, 2008
I would get into the whole story but basically: I haven't been doing my job and other people haven't been doing theirs either (I'm not gonna call any names but if you feel guilty and think I am talking about you, your probably right). This is Break Them Off Week, and if people don't get with the program they are gonna see how ugly I can really get, specifically these clothing lines. One thing you are going to find out is that when it comes to my money I WILL NOT FUCK AROUND WITH YOU, TRY ME PLEASE. I gotta get to work, but the countdown continues for another 7 days. Hope to see everyone next weekend. Until we speak again PEACE.

Only 3 Days Until Sneak Peek - Memphis is Offically Open
Okay so I'm gonna make this short and simple because I gotta get back to painting, so here we go.
With just about 10 dribbles Allen Iverson changed the game of basketball forever. Some would say for good and others would argue for the worst but never the less no one can deny that after that moment it would never be the same. HE BROKE MICHAEL JORDAN OFF AND THEN MICHAEL CAME BACK AND GAVE HIS ASS 40, BUT NO ONE EVER REMEMBERS THAT. They just remember the greatest player to ever play the game getting caught reaching and looking in the wrong direction not once but twice. Allen Iverson immediately gained a cult like following and spawned a movement that gave birth to companies like And 1, and brought street basketball to an organized level like never before. So why chose A.I to represent Day #3, because he was the Answer to the Question who is gonna lead the game of basketball into the next generation, who was gonna have the same effect on the game of basketball as Jordan did? Allen Iverson did. The same question has been posed about the youth and young adults in the city of Memphis. Who is gonna lead the next generation? The answer is in this store, because not only are we selling shoes and cloths, but we are selling a lifestyle, a mindset, a determination, a new way of thinking never seen in this city before. We are changing the game and we welcome all with an open mind to come and join us. Trust Me Its Gonna Happen, Just Watch. Until we speak again PEACE
New Music Monday: Q-Tip - Getting Up
Okay, Okay yall got me, its actually Wednesday but damn I been busy as hell, trying to get stuff together. So please forgive me, as I know everyone has been anxiously awaiting the release of my New Music Monday Blog right??????? Anyhow its here now and I must say that I am not really a fan of the song (would have much rather have been talking about T.I's new banger) but Q-Tip is back which is cause for celebration. Very original themed video, with a extra laid back beat and hook perfectly explains this new joint. Glad to have a true lyricist back in the game though and that's all that really matters. Q-Tip's gear is pretty tough as well, can't wait until the album drops. Until next time PEACE

7 Days Left Until Sneak Peek is Open To The Public

I'm way to busy to type up a little story but it's only 7 Days left until we open. Hell Yeah I'm Nervous. I had some visitors today, its funny how I can remember their faces the first time I brought them in here and the disgust that was on their faces really hurt my feelings. But that was 4 months ago, and to see their faces now is priceless, but even though they thought it was bad decision to take this piece of shit they supported me all the way and I am forever in debt to them for that. Let me get back to work though. Remember to come check us out on October 4, 2008. Until we speak again PEACE.
Now This Is What You Call Beef - No Subliminal Shots Here
Okay so I didn't know they get busy like this in England, and big up to Noel Gallagher for putting this on wax, performing it in concert, and letting everyone know exactly who he is speaking to (NO SUBLIMINAL SHOTS HERE). But everyone knows how I feel about Jay-Z (My Dad), so I gotta hate you now.
Apparently all this stems from Jay-Z headlining a London based annual concert called Glastonbury (pretty much Americas Woodstock). Mr. Gallagher had beef with this and publicized it prior to the show, Jay-Z came out at Glastonbury mocking Oasis which is Noel Gallagher's band, and Oasis responded by recording this song and performing it a couple nights later at Glastonbury. Crazy huh? Its been some time and Jay-Z still hasn't responded, not typical especially when he has been specifically called out, but maybe he is past this and maybe I should be too, but damn I never heard anyone come at "My Dad" like that. I feel like finding this punk in a dark alley, LOL, for disrespecting Jay-Z like that. If it was about anyone else I might have actually liked the song because it is dope.

Only 8 Days Until Sneak Peek - Memphis Opens the Doors

NFL World Championships (Check), NFL Hall of Fame (Check), Number Retired By Your Team (Check, as of 09/27/2008); what else could you want. No doubt Steve Young had one the greatest careers of any NFL Player and to think for many years he was a back up to another great on our list (Joe Montana), imagine just how good his numbers would have been had he played all of those years. Often regarded as one of the first running quarterbacks, Steve Young listened to his mentors who suggested that he learn how to play the role of the quarterback, refined his game, and became no longer defined as a running quarterback but just a quarterback, and not only a quarterback, but one of the best which is testament to his hard work, open mind, humility, and heart.
So why use Steve Young to represent Day 8, because he represents alot of what it took Sneak Peek to reach this point to being only 8 days away from opening. We were willing to listen not only to ourselves but also consider the needs of Memphis and what our target market was asking for. Not to pat ourselves on the back or anything but "TRUST ME, WE ARE GIVING IT TO YALL". We were able to change and open ourselves to suggestions, not for our bottom line (Money) but because we want to be the store everyone has been waiting for, and in our opinions those suggestions will make us one of THE GREATEST THIS CITY HAS EVER SEEN. As with Steve Young, to achieve this status will take time, but just being willing to change is half of the battle. So only 8 days until our doors open to the public. Please come and check us out and be the first to check out some of the FRESHEST, MOST EXCLUSIVE gear available in Fashion today. Until next time PEACE.

We Can't Think of Any Greats that Can Represent #11 or #10
I have been trying to come up with this all day but its just not working (I Have Too Many Other Things On My Mind Regarding the Store). Just know that Sneak Peek is coming in 10 days and we hope to see you all there. Until we speak again PEACE
Not quite New Music Monday but this couldn't wait.
Whats up Everyone, I know its not quite New Music Monday but this just couldn't wait. Keep in mind that I am usually totally against remakes especially if the song was made in the last 10 years but the guy actually added his own little spin on it which is totally soulful and original. I have actually been wondering since hearing T-Pain's - "Can't Believe It" what the songs might sound like without the Voice Thing, guess I know now. Big Ups to Jesse McCarthy for keeping it totally Original and I can't get enough of White people with soul. Until next time PEACE

New Music Monday: Kidz In the Hall featuring Estelle Sneak Peek Revealed #3
Sneak Peek Revealed #3:
This True Hip Hop movement is something very rare in the city of Memphis, as most of the community chooses to listen to that R&B (Rap and Bullshit) that we are constantly bombarded with on the local radio stations and in the club. We at Sneak Peek are determined to expose the city to not necessarily a new form of music but something that many people in this city do not have access to and at times I doubt that they even know it exist. We are not about forcing anything on people but we are about giving people choices. So even if this is something we can't do everyday we have decided to dedicate a section on our Blog every Monday to giving people that follow us something new to try to listen to and see if they like it.
Love Hangover - Kidz in the Hall feat Estelle
Our first installment into the New Music Monday vault comes from a group called Kidz in the Hall featuring Estelle ("American Boy" featuring Kanye West). Kidz in the Hall are apart of a new movement in Hip Hop that definitely pays homage to the rap groups of the late 80's and early 90's that were about Fashion, Fun, and Foolishness. That gun clappin, crack sellin, bi#ch smackin, sh*t it wack and hopefully groups like this catch on nationally. Enjoy

Only 12 Days Left Until Sneak Peek - Memphis is Open to the Public

People who are taken #199 in the NFL Draft aren't supposed to have careers like this. They aren't supposed to be on the top of every who's who list, they aren't supposed to be dating Prime Time Models and dumping them to date better looking Models, they aren't supposed to be considered the best at what they do, they aren't supposed to be racking up Championships. They are supposed to do what being number #199s usually do, just exist. Apparently Mr. Tom Brady didn't get that message as he is all of this plus more and only gets better every day. Of course he is hurt and because of the butt kicking the Pats got yesterday we see that there has never been a #199 pick that has meant more to his teams success.
So why use Tom Brady to represent Day 12? Well because what he was, we are, and what he is, we will be. We didn't take the easy road to opening this store as we found a location that we truly believed in regardless to what it was going to take to make it look like a store, we did it. In addition to that we didn't and don't have the deepest pockets to make something like this happen but we have made it by hook or crook and everything is slowly coming together even though we have dealt with our Road Blocks. Never the less we are almost there, and like Mr. Brady we will have to go through the fire to show we belong, but it is not a problem because we know exactly who we are and what we represent, and soon all of Memphis will see that we are the best at what we do. So only 12 days until our doors are open to the public for the 1st time. Please come and check out the store and be one of the first to have access to some of the freshest most exclusive gear available in fashion today.

Everyday Enlightenment: Market for Niggas by Talaam Acey
Todays enlightenment is brought to you by a Spoken Word artist named Talaam Acey. He is well known and well documented for his aggressive stance towards the negative Rap Community (Not real Hip Hop, which he supports). The video requires little explanation but will cause much conversation which is its purpose and the reason for me including it in "Everyday Enlightenment".
Understand what he is talking about and think about what type of ignorance you are supporting. Hip Hop was created over 30 years ago as a form of expression and a new way to create music, often showing little to no promise for its performers in terms of long term success. It has since turned into a billion dollar business controlled by people who could care less how these performers make themselves as well as the rest of our people (African Americans) look. If the message Mr.Acey is speaking bothers you and you want to do something about it. Stop supporting these artist that don't support us, stop buying these albums talking about nothing, stop watching these videos exploiting lives these people really don't live, and stop attending these shows. The more you support the things they do the more of a reason they have to do it and more of a reason these record labels have to go find the next idiot willing to do the same thing to himself for a little fame and fortune. Feel free to respond and until we speak again PEACE

Everyday Enlightenment: Sneak Peek Revealed #2
Just as bad as we want to provide the city of Memphis with Fresh Clothes and Shoes, it is also our goal at Sneak Peek to use this store as a teaching tool for everyone we come into contact with. We deeply desire to be the leaders that our generation is in need of, hopefully causing a ripple effect. Creating more and more leaders to carry these enlightening messages to their jobs, to their schools, to their homes, to their families, and to their friends. These messages will vary in length and subject matter but they will always be something to ponder (think) on. We are very intentional in staying away from matters of Race, Religion, Sexual Orientation, and Politics; but everything else is fair game. We are responsible for what happens to all of the world and it is time for some people to step up to the plate and take these messages to the masses. We strongly encourage everyone who reads these messages to send friends, family, and strangers to our website, or copy and paste this on whatever networking tool (Myspace, Facebook, etc.) you use.
Please feel free to comment on the days enlightenment and get an open dialogue going in regards to everyone's feelings about the subjects.
We reserve the right to remove anything from the website that can be seen as harmful, hateful, or demining.

Only 13 Days until Sneak Peek - Memphis is open to the Public.......... Come and Check Us Out
People debate day after day about whether or not #13 Wilt Chamberlain was the best big man to ever play the game, but no one can ever argue how he changed it. Wilt stood 7'2" which put him head and shoulders over his opponents of those days. Not only did his statue intimidate them but his skill level was unbelievable for a man his size. Wilt forced a change of how players played, how teams drafted, how big men were taught, and how coaches coached. There is no doubt that Wilt Chamberlain changed the game of basketball, which is what Sneak Peek will do to the fashion scene in the city of Memphis. We have searched long and hard for ways to make our Sneaker Boutique different and concentrated on what the city of Memphis really wanted and needed. In my opinion we have done that. Not only through the appearance of the store but also in the products we will be selling, the services we will offer to everyone, and the events we will put on and support. These other stores better step their game up, because its only 13 Days until Sneak Peek is open. For the first time in this city people will know the definition of a true Sneaker Boutique. Please come and check out the store and be one of the first in the city to Rock Gear from some of the freshest clothing lines in the business today. Until then PEACE.

Have a Coke and a Smile........ Oh yeah and get some Fresh Gear Too: Sneak Peek Revealed #1
For the next 14 Days Sneak Peek will reveal little bits and pieces about the store we have been working on all summer long. Some of the info might be totally pointless, some might be good, some might be bad, but nevertheless its Sneak Peek and totally original. We are 120% dedicated to creating a location not only for people to shop but a destination that residents of Memphis can talk about and share with people that don't know or who have yet to experience what we have to offer. So with that said here is the first thing everyone needs to know when entering Sneak Peek.Sneak Peek Revealed #1:
Please don't look at us weird when we say "Welcome to Sneak Peek, can we get you something to drink while you shop"? No we are not a restaurant but when we were conceptualizing what we wanted Sneak Peek to be we thought of all of the things we hate about shopping in other stores and wanted to do the total opposite. I also considered some great experiences I had at some stores while living in Chicago and how it made me feel to be treated like a King. So we came up with the idea to offer everyone that steps foot into Sneak Peek, a cold or hot drink to partake in during their shopping experience. All shoppers will have the option of bottled water, Coke, Cherry Coke, Diet Coke, Red Bull, Strawberry Fanta, Grape Fanta, Cream Soda, various Beers (Shoppers 21 and over/ ID WILL BE REQUIRED), or Coffee. Just a little something to say thank you for shopping with us and please visit us again. So there you have it. Sneak Peek - Memphis will be open on Saturday October 4, 2008. Come and check out our store and be one of the first in the city to Rock Gear from some of the freshest lines in the business now. Trust me it will be worth the wait.

Only 14 Days Left Until Sneak Peek - Memphis is Open to the Public
Only 15 Days Left Until the Sneak Peek - Memphis is opening

Hey Mr. Carter........................ I think all basketball fans remember this. Vince Carter in the 2002 Slam Dunk contest, immediately following his Alley Opp, Between the Legs, 180 Degree, Windmill. That doesn't even sound right but it happened. Mr. Carter pulled off things in this Dunk Contest that we never saw before or that anyone even thought were possible. Which once again is rather symbolic of what Sneak Peek - Memphis will be to the city when it comes to fashion, clothing, sneakers, boarding, and Hip-Hop lifestyle, something this city and few others have ever seen before. So with that said its only 15 days until the introduction of SNEAK PEEK to the city of MEMPHIS. Come and check out our store and be the first in the city to Rock Gear from some of the freshest clothing lines in the business right now. As the date gets closer we will have plenty of information but just thought we would offer everyone a heads up. Until we speak again PEACE

Only 16 Days Until the official opening of Sneak Peek - Memphis
I thought of using a photo of Pau Gasol, but I didn't think that would go over to well with how he played for the city of Memphis. So here is good ol' Joe Montana, one of the greatest to ever play the game. Which is rather symbolic of what Sneak Peek - Memphis will be to the city when it comes to fashion, clothing, sneakers, boarding, and Hip-Hop lifestyle, simply the Greatest. So with that said its only 16 days until the introduction of SNEAK PEEK to the city of MEMPHIS. Come and check out our store and be the first in the city to Rock Gear from some of the freshest clothing lines in the business right now. As the date gets closer we will have plenty of information but just thought we would offer everyone a heads up. Until we speak again PEACE

Everyone knows I Love Air Force 1's, hell 80% of my Sneaker Collection consist of nothing but these. So where the hell was I when they did this video. I would literally die if they ever let me enter this room so maybe its best they didn't. But I know that when they do the Top 200 I better be there.

"New Music" Kanye West - Love Lockdown (From his fourth coming album - "808s and Heartbreak"

So somebody might see some of our post and assume we are obsessed with Kanye West, WRONG. But when someone is HOT, they HOT and there is no way to deny it. So with that said let us be the first to tell you that Mr. West has a new album he is working on (808s and Heartbreak) and a new single called - Love Lockdown. Very original instrumental, soulful song, that really shows why Kanye West is on top right now. He constantly reinvents himself, using a little T-Pain magic to assist his voice, never the less its a must hear. Even more of a reason to love Kanye West. Check it out and until next time PEACE.
Good Hot Damn ! ! ! ! !

So Lil' Wayne begged for her on the Mixtape Classic "Promise Freestyle" letting us know just how bad this lady was and showed much appreciation for her, her talent, her mind, her dance skills, and her music and a lot of us slept on just how HOT Ms. Ciara really was, but no longer will we make that mistake. Check out the pages of this months VIBE magizine and you will know exactly what we are talking about. Just check out some of the photos above. Now we do feel that it is rather tasteless and ridiculous that even in 2008 women still have to subject themselves as sexual objects to remian relevant, but Thank You Lord that they do (please forgive me) and we are sure glad she did. As a woman we considered as a Celler Dweller when it came to celebrity hotties, Ciara has definitly rose up our Sneak Peek rankings to the levels of Beyonce, and a few others I can't think of right now. Big Ups to Ciara, and until next time PEACE.

So far all we have is Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, and Track and Field but please believe more are to come. ALL CHALLENGERS PLEASE STEP FORWARD, TO GET BEAT DOWN. Well I gotta go brush up on my skills so Until next time PEACE.

Photo of The Week: 08/10/2008 - 08/16/2008

My imagination is inspired by so many things: Music, Art, Fashion, Food, Smell, etc. Every now and then I run across things that stick so deep in me that I can not forget them. Most of the time its not about how good they look but more about how different they were, what I was going through at the time I saw it, or what the first thing I thought when I saw it. You remember the old saying "A pictures is worth a thousand words", well I actually believe that. The photo of the week is meant to strike up conversation, make you think, make you mad, make you sad, make you smile, make you reminisce (I just went to dictionary.com to spell that), or make you imagine.I will always give my thoughts on the photo and I encourage all to feel free to leave comments, questions, or concerns about these photos and please understand that these are not meant to offend anyone in anyway. The photo will be updated every Sunday and will run through the following Saturday. I hope you all can enjoy. Until next time PEACE
This weeks photo: 08/10/2008 - 08/16/2008
Discovered By: Me
Photographed By: Unknown
Thoughts: I think the photo is self explanatory, though I am not a fan of photoshopped Artwork all the time this one stuck with me because of the colors used, the placement of all the elements, and it is great for getting a point across. If the photographer had left the actual skateboard, everyone would have focused on the board trying to find out who the manufacture was, and would have been paying attention to its detail and what it had and didn't have. Instead he lets the viewer know that the picture is about the shoes, but the shoes are for Sk8ers. Pure genius. This is done by showing the shadow of the board and sk8er on the floor.

School is right around the corner, too close if you ask me. That means new classes, new teachers, meeting new friends, and meeting with old friends (who really aren't your friends, but for the sake of being cool we will keep them). Old friend equals interagations about what we all did on our Summer Vacations (which if they were really friends they would have known because we would have kept in contact, didn't I say I wasn't gonna go there). Not to gloat or anything but this year I will by far have the best stories available. No I didn't backpack through Europe (one day though), no I didn't spend it partying on Thursday and Saturday at Fire & Ice with JoJo Entertainment and 207 Entertainment (though thats cool too, I plugged yall), no I didn't spend it working some non-paying internship only to realize that I could have actually worked for money and been able to afford the gas that I complain about the prices being to high on. No instead I spent the Summer investing in my future and the future of the city of Memphis. I along with the assistance of some other people took a old beat down apartment in Downtown Memphis and made it into the first true Sneaker Boutique in the city of Memphis, TN (yeah I said it the first, and if you think that place is a Sneaker Boutique, ummmm.......... well won't go there either). So here I introduce you all to Sneak Peek of Memphis which will be opening October 4, 2008. I WELCOME YOU ALL to come by and check us out, the photos below are just a teaser but offer a clear look as to just how different this store will be. Please visit our page often to meet the Sneak Peek family, for updates, new product, new stories, and other various things that I find interesting. I absolutely love the city of Memphis and the potential this city offers me as well as other people who know how to take advantage of opportunity. WE LOOK FORWARD TO BRINGING TRUE ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC, and EXCLUSIVE URBAN FASHION TO THE CITY AND HOPE THAT YOU ALL ENJOY OUR STORE. Until next time PEACE.
