I Can Laugh Out Loud Because I Remember All The Drama Me and The Squad Had To Go Through To Get Our Hands On Some Yeezy's (Click Here To Relive Our Last Yeezy Adventure From 06/06/2009). Crazyness Indeed But Never-The-Less This Is Once Again Another Dope Edition Of On The Daily, The Chicago Based Online Comic Strip I Have Been Blogging About For The Last Couple Weeks. As Often As They Come With New Stuff We're Gonna Keep Hitting Yall With It, So Enjoy and Until We Speak Again PEACE.
I Have Heard Nothing But Great Things About This New Mixtape From Georgia Recording Artist B.O.B. Supposedly He Was Even In Memphis (Round One Restaurant) To Promote It Recently, But I Guess The Local Radio Stations Were Too Busy Playing Another Gucci Mane Track To Mention It. I Have Been Busy In Transition and Haven't Had A Chance To Completely Listen To The Full Mixtape Yet, But I Heard This Track Featuring Asher Roth and Had To Share Immediately. If "F@ck The Money" Is Any Sample To What the Rest Of The Mixtape Sounds Like, Then Listeners Are In For A Treat. "F@ck The Money" Also Confirms The Return Of Kanye West To Music Behind The Sound Boards ("F@ck The Money" Is Produced By Kanye West) , Not That He Left or Anything But We Haven't Heard Much New From The Chicago Bred Artist/ Producer Since Interrupting Taylor Swift During 2009's VMA's. I Encourage Everyone To Take A Few Minutes and Listen To B.O.B Featuring Asher Roth - "F@ck The Money". If You Feeling That Go Ahead and Download The Mixtape From The Link Below, From What I Am Hearing It's Good Music. Anywho, Enjoy and Until We Speak Again PEACE.
Found this while cruising one of my new favorite sites Rap Rader. This is a very good look for all of the artist involved in the project, especially Drake and Kanye West, which we haven't heard much new music from in a while. Though the video seems to be very similar to Lloyd's - "Girls Around The World" video, its still pretty interesting. Fell free to let us know what you think and Until We Speak Again PEACE.
I Couldn't Really Decide What New Music To Debut This Week, It's Alot Of Hot Sh*t Out and There Was No Way I Could Just Narrow It Down To One, So I Give You Two New Songs From My Dad (Jay-Z) and His New Protege' J.Cole, Along With A New Video From A Couple Of My Favorite Artist Kid Cudi, Kanye West, and Common.
Jay-Z Featuring Rihanna and Kanye West - Run This City The Blueprint 3 Is Looking As Though It Will Be Another Epic Album. Hova Doesn't Really Need Any Assistance Making Classics, But He Has Pulled Together A Bunch Of Heavy Hitters To Sprinkle A Verse or Two On The 11th Official Album. The Blueprint 3 Drops Friday September 11, 2009 (Only Jay-Z Can Do That) and Sneak Peek Is Taking A Road Trip To NYC To See Jay-Z and Friends Live In Concert To Commemorate The Event. I Guess Until Then, "D.O.A (Death Of Autotunes)" and "Run This Town" Will Do.
With A Slew Of New Artist Coming Into The Hip Hop Game Its Easy To Be Overlooked, But As I Have Been Told By Many Wise People, Your Career Is Not A Sprint Its A Marathon So I'm Sure There Is Some Reason Behind Jay-Z Keeping His First Artist Signed To RocNation, J. Cole, G4 Classified (Top Secret). Never-The-Less The Kid Is Dope and Its Only A Matter Of Time Before The World Knows Who He Is. So Thank Me Later For Putting You All On Him Before He Blows Up. This Song 'Dead Presidents 2" Is A Re-Make Off Of Jay-Z's Classic Debut Album "Reasonable Doubt". I Personally Think He Will Be At The Top Of This So Called "Freshman Class" (With A Couple Others) When It's All Said and Done. Check Out The Song Along With His Website and Let Us Know What You Think, But J. Cole Has The Sneak Peek Seal of Approval Already.
This Song Made Sneak Peek Famous In Memphis For Our Don't Give A F@ck Attitude, During The CGI Fashion Show and Since That Day I Have Been In Love With It. Featuring Three of My Favorite Artist This Song Is Dope and The Video Directed By Nez Khammal Makes It Even Better. Simple and Clean Is The Best Way To Put It, As It Totally Goes In A Different Direction Then Expected With The Subject Matter of the Song. Kid Cudi Is Setting Himself Up Pretty Nice For The Debut of His 1st Album, "Man On The Moon" Which Is Due Out Tuesday September 15, 2009. If The Album Is Anything Like The Mixtapes, The World Is In For A Treat.
No Explanation Really Needed, The Lakers Won The 2009 NBA Championship Last Night Which I Picked Before The Series Started (Check Entry From June 4, 2009). I Felt It Was Only Right To Put This Often Forgotten About Smash Hit On The Blog To Rub It In A Little and Make It Sting For All The Orlando Tragic Fans. This Song Features The Roca-Fella Records Crew of Dame Dash, Kanye West, Camron, Beanie Sigel, and Chicago Based Rapper Twista. To Think That More Then Half Of The Roc Team Was Missing From This Joint Includding The President/ My Dad Jay-Z and It Was Still A Hit, Crazy. Whether It Has Been A While Since You Heard This Joint or Your Asking Yourself Where The Hell Have You Been The Last Couple Years, Enjoy and Until We Speak Again PEACE.

Well the Yeezy Saga has come and gone FOR NOW (New Releases Have Been Rumored But Nothing Confirmed) and though we had to sit outside overnight, I can't say I have had that much fun in some time. To hear people's stories about Sneaker Loving was crazy, and just the bonding and family that was created in that 16 Hour period sitting outside of City Gear on American Way was pretty dope. I met some new people from other cities and states that I will definitely be keeping in contact with, and got to spend some time with good friends from Memphis, that I normally don't see because we all live busy lives. Me and Corey arrived at 5:00PM on Friday June 05, 2009 Fresh Off Of Work and Dispersed around 9:00AM from 4641 American Way after a brief celebration. To see that type of line in front of Sneak Peek one day would be dope, so I keep working for the future. While on our journey for the Nike Air Yeezy's I composed a video blog that MUST be edited, I watched most of it this morning and it is pretty funny and interesting at the same time. I am also considering doing a YEEZY AUCTION at our next event for this last 2 pair, so if you missed out or just want to make some extra money by selling some shoes stay posted to the blog for more information. Below are a couple pics of the shoes if you haven't seen them, Enjoy and Until We Speak Again PEACE.
Getting your hands on a pair of Nike Air Yeezy's have seemed to turn into a game of "Where's Waldo" in Memphis, TN. With that other place fucking the game up, we are working extremely hard to make sure we will be able to take care of our Loyals on the 1st Saturday in June. Stay tuned to the Blog for updated information on the release of these last scheduled release of the Air Yeezy's (more will come, just no drop dates yet). Until We Speak Again PEACE.
For those who thought the GayFish situation (Southpark: Kanye West/ GayFish Episode) was over better think again, as pictures started surfacing Thursday of the Nike Air Yeezy in the GayFish colorway. Though its a joke, it may have gone a little to far, but these a pretty dope, The Rainbow is back (No HOMO). Let us know what you think and Until We Speak Again PEACE.
Location: The Offices of Sneak Peek - Memphis Listening To: Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross - Heaven
Let's Just Say I Have Friends In High Places and We All Love Him for This Banger he passed on last week. Whenever I get a Loyal in the store that I know loves music, I like to trickle some shit out of the speakers I know they have never heard, when Corey Chism (owner of Psycho Handsome - http://psychohandsome.com) stopped by, I let this out and he made the "I just smelled the nasiest shit in the world face" and then continued to remain still (just bobbing his head to the beat) for the remaining 4:58 the song played. The entry catches the listerner off guard a bit because it plays like a Movie Theme, making it all that better, but when the artists (Rick Ross, Kanye West, T.Pain, Lil Wayne) start its gets plain crazy (I'm really hoping my Dad (Jay-Z) jumps on the Remix). This song will be on the upcoming Rick Ross - Deeper Then Rap Album due out next week - GO BUY THE ALBUM, IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH HE HAS WORKED EXTREMELY HARD ON THIS ALBUM. I hope yall enjoy and please feel free to comment. Until We Speak Again PEACE.
Well I was made aware that the song posted yesterday was not exactly new, but please understand I have only been in Memphis a little over 2 years, which means I wasn't quite hip to Gotti prior to my arrival. Never-the-less the song is dope and we posted it.
So how do we make up for this? By delivering this hot track from Ms. Keri Hilson, Kanye West, and Ne-Yo. The Boss Lady put me on the song sometime last week and I Loved It but when I saw the video it really hit home. Being in a city like Memphis where everyone knows everyone it is often hard escaping you Ex's unless you just turn into a hermit (stay your ass at home, think Uncle Pete from Soul Food the movie). Ummmmm, I was about to get personal on the stores blog but I will save it for now. The video is dope though, good concept, great video work, and it even has humor (imagine Kanye West and Ne-Yo fighting, it would probably be a slapping match because neither of them scare me much, LOL). Anywho watch, enjoy, and remember where you saw it first. Until We Speak Again PEACE.
Well I guess if you look at most of our post you would think Lil Wayne and Kanye West got they hands in our pockets or something, but when hard work is put in we can do nothing but respect it, or you can hate it (Never a Good Thing). Anyway, Kanye West and Hip Hop's (not Rap's) newest star Kid Cudi came through BET's 106th & Park to rip the mic and that they did. Can't comment much cause I gotta get back on my Bob Vila (I have been building a desk all week long) but Mr. West kills it (explicit lyrics and all) and Kid Cudi did his thing. Hope Yall Enjoy and Until We Speak Again PEACE.
NO HOMO: But I think I Love Mr. West, you put him in front of a camera and something wild is bound to be said. Need proof watch this video as Kanye West (I don't know him to speak on a first name basis) expounds on just about anything and everything. A lot of accusations have been swirling around him lately, including questions about his sexuality, since his recent trip to Paris for Fashion Week, yet he hasn't been camera shy like most celebrities get when called out. He actually seems more comfortable now then ever, which is a GREAT Thing, because we all know we can never get enough of whats on his mind. Anywho, ENJOY, and Until We Speak Again PEACE.
I'm really not into the whole award show scene, honestly before yesterday I never watch. The right people never win, the right songs never get performed, the shows are boring but things were a little different last night. Entertaining, indeed it was, as I was treated to two (2) performances from my Dad (Jay-Z) and two (2) from my brother (Kanye West). If you missed the "Swagger Like Us" performance check it out below.
I was actually able to put a face with a great song that I have heard before from Adele (but not often enough), but because she not singing about selling drugs and shes not African American I guess we will never hear her music in Memphis (sucks indeed). Anywho, I found myself watching, trying to find out what these stars would be wearing, what new trends to pay attention to, what new brands would be seen, and how they were wearing them. Unfortunately everyone was pretty suited up (Wearing Formal Suits and Tuxes) guess I will have to wait for the MTV or BET Awards. I did spot some accessories that I'm looking into right now, but before I get back to that, I just wanted to comment on some things. Before I start, I just would like to say this is no gossip blog, but every now and then the info reported can go in that direction.
- If what is being reported is true, 2 Thumbs Down to Mr. Chris Brown. We have all been in those situations before, but Real Men don't do it. WE JUST SHAKE THE SHIT OUTTA THEM (IT SCARES HER, AND NOTHING ELSE HAS TO BE DONE).
- T.I owes me and the rest of Memphis some money. We all went to his show in December expecting to get that T.I that performed last night with energy, heart, and a bunch of other stuff and instead got a sub-par T.I and Friends. NOT COOL, JUST MY OPINION, I STILL LIKE YOU THOUGH.
- I really hope that Lil' Wayne continues to go hard in the studio as he has been, the chips are stacked against him for ever winning the Album of the Year, but if the new material I have been hearing is gonna be apart of a album, he will surely get his eventually.
- M.I.A, please kill yourself for wearing that thing. Big Ups for performing while pregnant though.
- My Dad (Jay-Z) is getting and looking old. Its cool though cause he is the King and no one will argue that.
- Jamie Foxx had the best shades on at the show (I'm trying to find out what they were)
- Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson should return to wrestling.
- Why didn't T. Pain get to perform at the show? By far one of the hardest working artist in the game.
- I could just keep going, and going, but I'm not. I got a bunch of work to complete.
Well let me 1st clear up the fact that I don't know Mr.West personally, so me referring to him as Kanye is totally not me........... So let me revise this thing. Kanye West has been busting his ass over at LV headquarters (and people said he was just doing it to keep his name relevant, SILLY FOOLS). Well yesterday Mr. West gave the world a preview of some collab pieces he has been working on. A pretty spiffy Deck Shoe wrapped in all white leather with a white sole, and you know there will be some special details that will be revealed once it drops. This is just one of the six footwear designs he has been working on and we can't wait to see what else comes from this beautiful relationship. For those of you who have been asking about the Air Yeezy's, the release date is still uncertain but it will be around March, April, or May (I was at least able to narrow it down to 3 months for yall) and trust we are working diligently to make sure we will have them. Well gotta get to work, hopefully will see all of you soon. Until we speak again PEACE.
The reviews for this album have been thumbs up and down. I have nothing but respect for those who can take a walk away from the normal and challenge themselves to do something different. Regardless to how you feel about the Voicebox thingy that seems to be Mr. West's instrument of choice for this album, you can't deny the edgyness and heart that he exposes. One thing no one can say about this new album is that Kanye is slacking on the artwork. He started hooking up with big name artist on the "Graduation" album and now again on "808's and Heartbreak" Kanye has chosen Brooklyn based artist Kaws to design a very limited album cover and insert booklet. For those who don't know "808's and Heartbreak" are due out Tuesday November 24, 2008. Check it out and let us know what you think.
So somebody might see some of our post and assume we are obsessed with Kanye West, WRONG. But when someone is HOT, they HOT and there is no way to deny it. So with that said let us be the first to tell you that Mr. West has a new album he is working on (808s and Heartbreak) and a new single called - Love Lockdown. Very original instrumental, soulful song, that really shows why Kanye West is on top right now. He constantly reinvents himself, using a little T-Pain magic to assist his voice, never the less its a must hear. Even more of a reason to love Kanye West. Check it out and until next time PEACE.
