Spring Board 2009: Presented By Sneak Peek - Memphis x Strange Fruit Productions

GENERAL INFORMATION
Sneak Peek – Memphis and Strange Fruit Productions are collaborating on a one-of-a-kind deck design contest and juried artist exhibition. 25 selected visual artists will have the opportunity to design original artwork on skateboard decks supplied by Sneak Peek – Memphis.

Decks will be on display throughout the boutique, Sneak Peek – Memphis, beginning at the opening reception on April 10, 2009. People will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite deck design at the reception and on the blog www.sneakpeek-memphis.blogspot.com.

The “people’s choice” will receive a $250 gift card to Sneak Peek – Memphis, be featured in a photo shoot for Sneak Peek – Memphis and the winning deck will be produced in limited edition quantities for sale at Sneak Peek – Memphis with a portion of proceeds benefiting the artist.

DATES TO REMEMBER
Submissions due by: Saturday, March 14th
Judging completed: Sunday, March 15th
Entry notification: Monday, March 16th
Deck Pick-up: Monday, March 16th through Wednesday, March 18th
Finished deck submission: Sunday, April 5th – Tuesday, April 7th
Opening reception: Friday, April 10, 2009 at 6 PM


ELIGIBILITY
Spring Board 2009 is open to all visual artists. An application and examples of recent artwork must be completed and submitted to Sneak Peek – Memphis by Saturday, March 14th for jury consideration.

The twenty-five finalists must supply a $20 cash deposit to secure an unpainted deck from Sneak Peek – Memphis. The $20 will be returned to each artist once the finished decks are submitted.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Sneak Peek – Memphis and Strange Fruit Productions will supply the unpainted decks. Artists are required to secure all necessary materials to produce finished designs on the decks.

Upon completion and return to Sneak Peek - Memphis all decks are property of Sneak Peek – Memphis and Strange Fruit Productions and will be offered for sale to the general public with 25% of proceeds benefiting the deck’s artist. Price of each deck contingent upon detail of each design and will be determined at the discretion of Sneak Peek – Memphis and Strange Fruit Production.
